I recently read the following in \_The Ghost in the Attic\_ by Shepard Siegel (2004, MIT Press):

>It is not difficult to find, in this population \[of university-student volunteers\], a lot of people who routinely drink beer in a pub.”

I’m reading this book and assuming a North American audience, primarily.

My (Canadian) experience of American campuses (conferences, primarily) is that there are no campus pubs (there are usually more than one in Canada).

And I also don’t know what the undergrads call the places that they go to drink beer: bar? pub? depends?
