I messed the title, it’s, Little girl [6f] from the park I [35m] go to play with my daughter [6f] is getting clingy. I’m not sure how to react.

This girl has been coming over to the park near our home for the past few weeks. My wife and I have been living here for 8 years and our daughter has been coming to the park all her life, so we know pretty every kid around and this girl is new.

At first she was pretty shy and seemed like she wanted to join my daughter and other kids in the rides but kinda just looked from the distance. She started playing more with the kids and she’s I guess a regular in the park now.

Her mom is mostly not with her while she plays. The mom is usually talking to other parents and this girl plays with the kids. When it’s only my daughter, this girl and I in the playground, she acts shy and doesn’t say but plays along. So, if I’m spinning my daughter in the spinner, she’ll approach us and get on the ride but won’t say much.

Last time she asked to get off the ride and spontaneously hugged my leg. That was very unexpected and I kinda just tapped her shoulder and told her to go with her mom.

I don’t know what this girl’s situation is like and I’m not sure how to react if she becomes fond of me and continues to do this. (I’m usually the one who takes our daughter to the park in the evening since my wife often comes back later).

So, I’m not sure what to do here. I hadn’t had another kid cling to me like this before. How should I handle this moving forward?

**tl;dr:** Little girl who started coming to play in the park I always take my daughter to likes me or is fond of me in some way and hugged me spontaneously. I’m not sure what to do Moving forward when we coincide again. What to do?
