I’m a 25F and he’s a 26M, we’ve been together since the beginning of March.
I have my group of girlfriends that I hang out with and we often party.
Yesterday we went to a party, while he was seeing his friends. He literally wanted to leave his friends just to drive us to the party but I said no cuz first, I think it’s not nice to leave your friends like that, and secondly we were perfectly capable to get to the place with public transport.
He insisted that he would drop all of us home after the party then but we didn’t know for how long the party is gonna last. I didn’t want him to stay up all night as he also had to get up at 8 in the morning.
He literally set an alarm for every 30 minutes during the night and he was waiting all night for my text. I communicated to him that he really doesn’t have to do that cuz that must be tiring for him, but he still does that. My friends also think the same way. So at 5 am he left the minute I sent the message that we’re done and dropped everyone off.
The thing is that it’s not a first time, last party he also stayed up all night and now he said that he can always does it for us, especially now in the summer where more festivals and parties are coming.
I understand this is super sweet and caring but I’m also trying to think if that’s not too clingy. And how is it gonna work out in the long run because he does want to help with everything.
I would appreciate some thoughts. Is that normal? Isn’t that a bit controlling?
TL;DR! Everytime I go out with friends, my boyfriends stays up all night and waits for my text so he can drop me home
