Why is it conventionally always better to talk in person if you have an issue with someone? Isn’t it also more awkward in-person as opposed to via text?

I know people might just think ‘he wasn’t confident enough to talk to me in-person about it’ so that’s the only reason I can think of for in-person.

  1. It’s much easier to be an active listener in a face to face conversation. Sure it may be more awkward given the topic of conversation, but it’s also more direct and can be a lot more meaningful.

  2. It’s easier to hide or make up emotions when not in person. It’s also harder to ignore when someone right in front of you asks you about something than if they texted it you. Also in person you can’t Google what to say, so peoples answers and reactions tend to be more spontaneous, impulsive, raw, real.
