I, 23m, am currently in a one year school to later be able to study (in switzerland apprenticeships are very common and you dont necesserily need to study to live a good life).
In my class is a girl I like. Now i do not know if she is into me as well. I was a late bloomer and had some bad relationships before and took some time of the dating game. So i am a burnt child and kind of demoralized.

We are texting sometimes for hours, but when i don’t text first, she usually wont text me at all that day (seldomly, if she needs something for school or it is about someone in class or something like that). The texting mostly revolves around school and sometimes a bit of weekend plans etc.
I know that I should just man up and ask her out on a date but I am a scared af.
What does reddit think?

Sorry for the bad english, not my first language 🙂

  1. I think ask her on a date. Be prepared for her to say no of course, life commitments can make it hard for people to date even if they want to.

  2. Impossible to tell, you just gotta take the plunge and ask. Think, what would Pete Davidson do!

  3. I think a lot of men overestimate a womans interest; they can have basic conversations like you and I do, doesnt mean she wants to have sex with you just cause you guys are chatting. you know what I mean? It’s hard to tell you this over such little information, she could be yeah, but also it could just be plain chatting for school stuff. I’d suggest you just man up and ask her out, better that way than to imagine some scenarios for who knows how long. Good luck

  4. Stop texting. Start having conversations. Speak. Interact. It takes all of the ambiguity out of the situation. Her body language and responses will give you a clear indication as to where you stand with her.

  5. What you described is classic baseline polite but not interested behavior. If she was interested, her behavior will deviate quite a bit from that baseline.

Sorry man she is just a classmate, move on. Asking her out will just make things awkward in class. Don’t shit where you eat applies.
