So my girlfriend (17) has a guy best friend that is a year older than us but they have never looked at each other in any other way than just friends and they have never had the thought of doing something romantically or sexually. I believe this and I think that it is true and think that the guy best friend is a good guy from what I’ve seen, but after half a year of being together she tells me a story about him and her. A few months before we got together they were at a party together and when they went home she went home with him and they messed around and she slept over at his place. So to me this feels like “this guy is my friend and I’ll never look at him another way……(6 months later) buuuttt this one time. And it really doesn’t feel great and I do not know how to tell her that and how to cope with it. I guess what I am asking is how should one treat such a situation.

TDLR: Girlfriend tells me about her sexual encounter with her friend she never have seen as anything else than a friend after 6 months of saying nothing has happened.

  1. She lied to you for months because she was afraid it would impact her ability to both see her best friend and keep the relationship with you. Now, she feels you’re sufficiently invested that she can tell you and keep both relationships. Don’t be surprised when you find out you didn’t get the whole story.
