Long story short I am on a 2 year graduate scheme that ends next month. I was given a verbal offer for a permanent position from September. The team I would be joining is okay but I don’t love it and sometimes I’m thinking about going elsewhere at some point. Would it be crappy behaviour to apply internally for another job knowing I might not get it and my boss might find out somehow? Or should I just take the offer and give it a bit in case I enjoy it more than I think I will? I’m a little worried that it will look bad and also if I get and take the job it might not even be as good as I think so I’d be taking a bit of a risk? Has anyone ever done something like this during a grad scheme? Or just moved jobs in general with some uncertainty? I haven’t really done any applying/negotiations as this is my first job ever so any insight on that process would be appreciated!

  1. Not bad at all, if you have a good opportunity you should do what’s best for you

  2. Someone once said, there is job being good, good pay and good coworkers/boss.

99% of them time you’ll get 2 of these an no more.

If your job isn’t shit, pays decent and is overall good, I’d stay for a while. Don’t expect a job to be this “dream job” because that doesn’t really exist
