How are so many people so dramatic and excitable?

I just overheard the most dramatic conversation, which has given me second hand exhaustion.

Just a neighbour lady having her friend visit, but goddamn they’re so animated, exclaiming the most mundane things with a level of excitement that I couldn’t even muster if I’d just won the powerball.

Is this all a socially conditioned behaviour or are a lot of people naturally just that dramatic?

On that note, I feel like I unintentionally come across as uninterested, when really it’s just my nature.
