Basically I’ve been using an expired passport recently for ID and last night my bag was stolen and it was in it among other things. I looked up and it says you must report and cancel a stolen passport blah blah but do I need to do this or anything else if the passport was expired?
Stupid question I know but would just appreciate some help

Yes you need to do this (report it)instead of posting on Reddit.
Report it to the police if you haven’t done so already, and ask them if you need to do anything else. I would be inclined to contact the passport office for good measure.
yes or you won’t get issued a new one as easily.
you can report it online with the police and also with the passport office. two online forms about 30mins of your time.
