Americans, why do you love your own sports but not sports that are popular around the world?

1. Probably the same reason the rest of the world doesn’t really care about American Football, most people only care about what’s in front of them.

2. We seem to do a great job at the Olympics so I guess we’re doing something right.

3. Really it’s only American football that is primarily an American sport I think, baseball, hockey, and basketball are enjoyed in many other countries. We also play soccer in the US! And indeed the USMNT is going to the World Cup baby!!!! Group B baby!!!!

4. Are you saying that we have our own *culture*? Thought stating such was anathema to citizens of MyCountry.

5. Because we don’t care about the rest of the world. We only have soccer for the whiners that live here. Why in God’s name would we have a game like Cricket to which no one seems to know the rules for?

6. Oh come on now, Americans are always watching sports in far off exotic places… such as Toronto, and Montreal which I assume is in France.

7. We formed on our own, and were early in removing European colonial influences. Much of the other countries outside of Europe stayed under colonial influence for much longer.

   Why do you care?

8. Because we do it better or not at all.

9. The rest of the world sports were part of a class system. I mean it’s hard to play polo if your family doesn’t have enough money to own a horse dedicated to polo. A ball and a field or hoop is pretty basic.

10. Other countries has their own sports? But why when there are American sports? Hmm, interesting.
