What are your principles and values?& how important are they to you?

  1. There are fucking horrendous people in the world, but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve empathy. Maybe not from their families or loved ones, but they should still be able to have assistance if they are attempting to better themselves. I don’t think they necessarily deserve to be forgiven by people they’ve hurt (people they hurt owe them nothing), but I do think they deserve another chance for themselves to do better.

(To clarify, this is not about cancel culture or celebrities. Just regular people.)

It’s pretty important. I work in social work and so many of the people I work with are flawed people who have made horrendous choices. That said, there’s context and nuance to those choices. Just because their kids, ex-partners, and friends hate them does not mean I need to.
