Hi everyone. Using a throwaway account for privacy reasons. Wife and I are going through the separation process and I’ll move out in just a few weeks. I’ll try and keep it as concise as possible. Unfortunately, at this point, my soon to be ex wife has developed some serious internet/gaming addiction that I barely know who she is anymore. I offered going to therapy together, going to couple’s counseling, going to the physician with her to discuss her (ADHD) meds, covering all the costs and taking time off from my work if necessary, but she refused all of them. My final tool was an ultimatum to leave her, which didn’t mean a damn thing to her, and she even refused to sit down to talk things over. She said you’re unhappy so it is what it is. We went from being happy to this mess over the course of a year. We barely talk these days, but I’ve learned that she’s quit her job, and easily spends 15 hours a day to talk to a bunch of kids. I’m doing all the house chores, taking care of pets, etc. as she does seem to be into a trance of some sort. Also, as much as I deeply care for her well being, my love for her went completely out the window when I realized she’s talking to a bunch of dudes and losers and kids like round the clock. Now here’s my actual dilemma. I don’t know if I should reach out to my in laws about this situation. I think the obvious answer is yes, but she doesn’t really talk to her parents anymore, and they never had much respect for me either. They were always too busy with own crises to ever call me and check in. I greatly appreciate any input!

If you’re separating, why are you still living together? Also, what is the point of talking to her in laws? To get them to talk reason into her? Because if she doesn’t talk to them much why would she listen to them? To make them aware of your separation? That’s on her to do.
