Most of the time when I come into work I don’t say hi to people, even people I work with directly every day. What’s weird is that I know I’m doing something wrong. so every time I pass by someone I feel anxiety over the fact that I didn’t greet them. I think I do it because I don’t want or know how to have conversations, so why should I waste both of our time saying hi to them if I’ll never get to know them?

It’s a problem at every place I’ve worked (retail). Eventually people catch on and start making jokes about it, leading to even more anxiety and a greater tendency to avoid everyone.

Does anyone have any strategies for dealing with this? I wish I could go through my day with no people whatsoever
