This is an odd question, I know 🤓 I’m looking to help my 20 year old autistic daughter make friends. She asks me how she is supposed to meet people now that she’s an adult . So what I’m wondering is , are there like , online groups or something where young adults meet up looking for friends or relationships ? Dating websites are a scary joke. It doesn’t seem like anyone is on there for actual dating anymore. I’m not judging , you do you , but are there like chat rooms or something like that ? Don’t laugh at me , I’m old as hell😂😂

  1. i met my younger 20 something friends by going for morning walks and meeting people along the way. im a guy so i would approach them, i have a feeling a lot of younger 20 something girls would do this. honestly if shes a lady she just has to go out and do something and she will be approached by someone interested.

just the other day i approached a nice woman at home depot of all places.

  2. They’re increasingly not. Compared to pre-internet days, social circles and friend circles have massively shrunk and there’s far more people having to cope with no friends at all. COVID seriously accelerated that as well.

I wish you a lot of luck. In the end she may have to adapt to having acquaintances.

  3. Meetup.com I’ve gone to a few things its usually young professionals that just moved to a new city – we did an ice cream social and a clay pottery class. I really enjoyed them.

  4. I think jobs are an underrated way of meeting people. I’m working at a resort right now and have made some really good friends.

  5. Hey just join a club for special interest. You like biking join a biking Club you like model trains join a model train Club. Now that you got a similar interest in the talking point in mind meeting other people is far less horrifying. Another option is going to a singles mixer. Or Community block party in your neighborhood or something similar. Networking events are also a good choice, though they may be primarily business driven. At least you have a common interest. You may be able to talk to your local Chamber of Commerce for a list of special interest events. You can try the mighty Oracle of Google. Also check the local library for listings of events.
