Under the “What I’m looking for” prompt which is available on Hinge, I’ve seen multiple women using this same blurb word for word, like it’s some sort of copy and paste. It basically just has these quotes and one other one I don’t remember:

“I got you these flowers”

“I made reservations, be ready at 7”

“Let me get that door for you”

I’m out of the loop here, is there some weird Tik Tok movement pushing back against the breakdown of traditional gender roles?

  1. No, they’re still devout feminists and think that overall, men are scum, they just think the man they’re dating should still do all those things for them, AND make more money than them AND initiate dating app conversations AND pay for dates AND initiate physical intimacy. I wish this was a joke……..

  2. I agree, it’s a pretty stupid prompt. There’s no way they’d realistically accept if you actually made reservations at a restaurant without talking to them first. It’s just a cheeky line that really doesn’t translate into any conversations.

  3. Its a Tiktok thing. Some girl shared her rules for dating and it caught on. Women now expect men to “Be a man”

  4. I’ve seen that a lot too.

It generally implies the person put forth minimal effort into their profile creation, and don’t check the app very often (except for maybe validation).

If it’s an app that gives you a limited number of swipes per day, swipe left. Don’t waste the swipe.
