So I’ve been talking to my match for the last couple days and we are meeting up for dinner at a restaurant this weekend. She’s not local and is actually an international student doing a study abroad at the nearby college. Knowing that this is most likely not going to be a long-term relationship since she is only around temporarily, what should I make of this? Is this more of a potential casual/fling thing? What do you think? How should I approach the date

  1. As someone in a very similar situation, just be sure about what you want. If there is a good connection, it could be a really great experience to spend a few weeks/months with someone you like, even if there is an expiration date to the relationship. I would prefer to be in a long-term relationship, but having had a fling in the past and maybe being in the middle of one, I don’t regret it

Cherish happy moments with good people. If there’s a connection, it could end up being a really nice experience and a good break from the single/online dating monotony. Sure, you won’t be able to date other people during this time probably, which could lead you to missing a potential long-term match, but I would say the risk is worth it, if it feels right.
