In most American supermarkets, there is a section that has gallon, half gallon, and smaller size containers of refrigerated milk. But in many other countries, milk is stored in liter or half liter sized containers on the normal grocery shelves and doesn’t seem to be consumed or purchased as frequently.
How often do you consume milk and what do you use it for?

Cereal
Chocolate chips
And waffles/pancakes
Every day in coffee.
Multiple times a week in cooking.
I drink a glass almost everynight before bed.
You can get milk by the liter here too, that’s the size I usually buy. I hardly ever drink milk at all, my wife never drinks it, but it’s recommended to give milk to little kids so we give it to our son. He loves it, but being a little toddler doesn’t actually drink all that much of it. A liter usually lasts us a couple weeks.
With kids we go through a gallon or so a week. My son is 2.5 now so he’s not drinking milk in bottles.
Mostly it goes to cooking, baking, or cereal in the morning.
I eat cold and hot cereal with it fairly often, and I put it in my coffee more often than not. Use it in recipes a few times a month I guess
I usually buy half gallons and use them up in a week or two generally
I love milk and drink it at least twice a day and I cook with it also.
I snack on cookies, then chug a bunch to Wash it down. Few times a week.
Almost never. I occasionally buy the smallest carton available when I need some for baking, but sometimes I just use powdered milk instead for that so I don’t have the rest of the pint or quart sitting in the refrigerator going bad.
Daily! Mostly for coffee or smoothies, but I also use it for baking.
I rarely drink ordinary milk. I often drink kefir or buttermilk. Usually a quart per week.
Shelf stable milk tastes noticeably worse which might be coloring your perception.
I have 2 small kids who drink a lot of milk. I use it for my coffee and for cooking. We go through 2-3 gallons a week.
Never. Don’t have anything against it, but I don’t cook with it, as my wife is allergic, and I prefer to drink other things.
I go through a couple gallons a week by myself.
Everyday, mostly for coffee but also for cooking and, occasionally, cereal. My kid drinks some too.
I usually only use it in coffee.
I’ll put a splash in coffee, but that’s about it these days.
I cook with it a lot. Drink it occasionally. Go through a gallon maybe every week and a half.
Basically never. I’m both allergic and lactose intolerant.
Daily.
Most countries with the highest milk consumption rates are in Europe. Finland, Montenegro Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Albania, Lithuania, Ireland and Estonia make up 9 of the top 10 milk consumption countries.

Africa, Asia and the Middle East have among the lowest milk consumption rates.
I haven’t drank milk in 2 maybe 3 decades.
I don’t really use as an ingredient either. If I’m adding dairy, it’s cream, yogurt, buttermilk, sour cream, queso fresco. But not plain dairy milk.
Last night: Kraft mac n cheese
Aside from putting it in coffee, cereal, and cooking, i drink a glass a few times a week at night. Sometimes it helps me feel full before bed, without having to eat more food.
I go through about a half gallon a day. I buy 4 gallons a week.
I pretty much never pour myself a glass of milk to drink alone but it’s used frequently when cooking, baking, or cereal. We don’t drink coffee in my house but it’s commonly used in coffee too.
Now that I’m an adult I would say that I drink it more now. Growing up we sparingly drank it so it could be used for cooking.
I use it frequently in coffee (half and half) and in baking and cooking. I don’t drink it regularly, although I do still like it.
Almost daily with cereal. Drink it probably 3 times a week
Rarely. We use oat milk most of the time, either in cereal or coffee.
Protein shake, baking, and chai. 3 adults go through 1.5-2 gallons a week.
Protein drink every morning. Usually go through two or three bottles a month
I go through about a half gallon a week. Coffee, cereal, occasional recipe, chocolate milk if the mood strikes. Whole, organic.
Every day. I drink it plain, occasionally in hot cocoa in the winter, chocolate milk in the summer. In cereal almost daily. I use it in soups and sauces. Sometimes dressings.
There are 3 adults in my home, we go through about a gallon and a half to 2 every week.
My kids drink milk once a day. That’s pretty much it for me. I use canned coconut milk for recipes instead of dairy and we eat cereal with almond milk.
Nearly every day. I use it on my cereal and in some of my coffee. We use Silk Soy milk in our household
My fiancée has three boys, and between me and them we go through about two gallons a week for cereal and other applications.
a gallon of 2% every couple of weeks Me and my son) . mostly to pour over cereal. occasionally as a drink if eating something chocolatey or very spicy
Pretty much daily. Either in cereal or oatmeal usually. Bit of milk mixed into maple and brown sugar or apples and cinnamon oatmeal is great. It’s also a critical ingredient for my macaroni and cheese to have the right texture and flavor. I use a lot more than the usual recipe calls for. Also love Darigold’s FIT chocolate milk and I like to get them when I can. Two bottles of the darigold fit milk is just shy of 100% daily value of protein according to the label, tastes great too. I tend to stick to lactose free stuff. I don’t think I’m full blown lactose intolerant but probably not too far off. My favorite thing about the lactose free stuff is if you don’t open it it lasts a stupid long time, I’ve seen one dated for two months from when I bought it. Once it is open it can still last a pretty long time. Gallon is my typical choice for regular milk.
Cereal, occasionally recipes, a cup a day for my toddler. We go through about a half gallon every one or two weeks.
Me personally? Extremely infrequent use. Once or twice a week at most and only for French toast or on the rare occasions I bake cinnamon rolls or cookies
I don’t drink milk
Generally I just use it when it’s needed in a recipe, which does happen relatively frequently, perhaps twice a week. (I bake a lot, for one.) I never drink it by itself other than as part of an occasional bowl of cereal, and I usually only buy small cartons (like, half pints.)
Every day in cereal
At least once a week
I use milk in coffee and baking and sometimes drink a glass, especially if I’ve got a half gallon (~2 liters) that’s going to turn soon. Just myself, it’s not hard to get through a half gallon in two weeks.
When I was a kid, I had a glass of milk at least 2 meals a day and that was normal. Three kids in my family, plus my mom sometimes had it (dad was lactose intolerant), we always had a gallon and usually had a spare.
I never drink cow’s milk, plant based is my go to replacement. I put it in smoothies and cereal.
in coffee and cold breakfast cereal. My grandchild drink it too
Daily- I drink it daily as an easy way to get my calcium and Vitamin D. I also use it for cereal, pudding, and certain recipes.
I love a glass of ice cold milk to drink. Oddly I hate it in cereal and the idea of dunking cookies in it makes me queasy.
Several times per week – in coffee, cereal, cooking, etc. I don’t typically drink milk plain myself. Never been a straight up milk drinker.
