I’ve tried OLD apps in the past and have walked away as it’s definitely not the place for me to find success as I’m not into social media/photos, not tall, and I don’t like to flaunt spending money.

However, I’m genuinely curious after seeing posts across multiple subreddits. I’ve seen the same people of all backgrounds post multiple times about being ghosted, being sent unsolicited sexual images or messages, or dealing with awful behavior from matches in general, but why do they remain on the app despite things repeating? Do they not learn from past behaviors, do it for online clout/attention, or what?

I’ve always had the perception that apps are much like slot machines for people, but at what point do people cash out?
