So I’ve (24m) been on a dating app the past year and a bit, and I’ve only had 2 dates, both of which lead nowhere.

I’m what one might call a ‘classic nerd’: glasses, unfashionable etc. I’ve been told by several girls (friends/colleagues) that I’m funny and cute (I think that’s a nice way of saying I’m not *hideous*). I don’t think I’m completely dejectable, and I’ve been working recently on trying to improve my self-esteem, but I’m an introvert and really not confident at approaching girls at all.

Is there something I should be trying or is it just gonna be a slow grind for me?

TLDR: As a nerd, how do I date?

Edit: added age and gender

  1. Well seems like a few girls have told you at least one thing. Unfashionable, could be worth learning how to dress yourself, plenty of styles go well with glasses so not really an excuse.

One thing that’s taken me a while to learn before I got my first GF was that just being a nerd, is exactly as attractive as Just being a sports player. It’s part of who you are so try to avoid making it fully who you are, have other interests as well, cooking, walking etc they might seem simple but it really helps.

Yes it will be slow but it nearly always is for guys, getting 2 dates however is good, take what you can learn from them and go forward king.

  2. Maybe work on your personality. Seems like you got maturing up to do.
