   But herpes can be spread through things like bath towels and toilet seats.

2. Well you (as a couple) Haven had sex but what about previous relationships? You should always err on the side of caution. And like someone mentioned herpes are an issue especially since if I recall correctly around 50 to 80 percent of adult population (in usa) has HSV-1 (commonly known as cold sores).
