So I used two durex lubricants and both gave me yeast infections and I think a different pharmacy grade lubricant gave me one too. The net says to avoid glycerine and glycerols in general to avoid the breakdown of sugars but I was thinking…

I am very pro preservative–I don’t want my lube getting mold–but if I will be putting something like chlorhexidine up there won’t it kill my vaginal flora along with harmful organisms and make me susceptible to imbalances anyway? Or am I overthinking this?

  1. Avoid water based lubes due to the huge osmotic potential imbalance with the body that actually promotes irritation and STD transmission.

The WHO has some advice and there are lists with the most commonly available lubes.

Usually good silicone based lubes are the best balance.
