Depending on when the date is, but I’ll usually confirm the other person is still up for going two to three days in advance, and then kind of slip in one last chance to back out the day before.
The morning of or a few hours before the date, I’ll text something like “Still on for [place] at [time] tonight? Let me know if anything comes up.”
If the date is at night, I confirm in the morning. If the date is in the morning, I confirm the day before
The morning of I’ll text and say something like “Happy first date day (confetti emoji & wink emoji). Have a good day and I’ll see you tonight”
Easy way to confirm the day of.
Then about a couple hours before the meet time, I’ll text “I’ll get there a little early and get us a couple of bar spots. See ya soon”
If she doesn’t reply to both with some sort of “yay” or “looking forward to it” or something positive it’s time to question if it will happen.
I mercifully haven’t been in the dating market for a while, but when I was I’d make the date and touch base later in the week to talk (enthusiastically) about it and confirm the activity. But not the date, that’s pretty much resolved.
Day before, but only because I hate flakes. I keep my word religiously and hate peoples who treat plans like they can just be tossed aside.
Just completely depends, with my current bf it is instant. Others took as long as 4-5 dates
