I have a friend (M-19) whos latest girlfriend (F21) was from an (and his very first) online relationship. Now, my friend is someone who promises his friends that every time he meets a new girl that she’s “the one”, meanwhile we just dont give it much mind since he gets over every break up in two days tops. But, the latest one, in particular, got me wondering what exactly her plan was, or what would she benefit from him.
So, basically, they met during a random match in Valorant six months ago and ever since then theyve been talking and stuff, and just two days ago they became official, but fastforward to the present, she faked (i say fake cus he told me he saw her post selfies on socmed the next day) drugged herself and blocked him from everything and that was that. While my friend over here’s been goin thru the seven stages of grief, but mostly denial, and kept telling me “she was the one, man. how could she?”
But, according to him, she told him she disliked it when he bought gifts for her, so that pretty much eliminates the possibility that shes a gold digger, also cus hes hella broke. She seemed real and genuine at the time, but he also added how she always refused meet ups or made up excuses whenever he asked. So, now, I want everyones two cents as to what exactly went on there.
TLDR; my friend had a break up w an egirl who didnt take his money, etc but still used him regardless, was wanting everyones thoughts on the matter

Your friend got scammed or cat fished probably. She maybe used fake photos and got caught doing so and you can only lie your way through and put off meet ups for so long. Your friend also sounds kind of naive in the sense that he seems to think every girl that gives him attention in that way is the one. If he gets over break ups in like two days then it doesn’t sound like there’s much to worry about.
