Hello from Scotland! I’ve flagged this as an education question because I work in education and family support so that’s where my interest in child protection and safeguarding comes from.

I’ve heard that each state follows different laws and policies can can differ between different schools but beyond that I know nothing about how it all works.

I understand that this can be a difficult topic for some people so please understand that I’m here to learn, not make judgments or start fights!

  1. Child protection in what regard and for what exactly? Protection in school, at home, from predators?

You have CPS (Child Protective Services), DDS (Department of Social Services) or DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services) which operates individually in all states though they all have the same purpose with much of the same regulations.
