Hi,

Welcome to our daily scheduled post: Daily Slow Chat, which will replace Slow Chat Sunday from now on.

This is a post meant for general, unrelated, more civil, and all-over-the-place every day, and meta discussions that do not warrant their own threads. So if you just wanna chat about your day, if you have questions for the moderators (Please mark those \[Mod\] so we can find them), or just wanna talk about oatmeal this is the thread for you!

We have a server on Discord BTW. It’s very small right now, and we’d love to have more of you over there. Do both of us a favor, [and use this link to join the fun](https://discord.gg/BTX7cK3R4k). If you need manual verification, just ping one of the mods: they should be visible at the top of the sidebar.

The mod-team wishes you a nice day!

  1. So a while back I watched a couple of videos by [James Ker-Lindsay](https://youtube.com/c/JamesKerLindsay) that just happened to be about Bosnia. This appeared to cause YouTube to mistake me for a loyal member of the diaspora and spent weeks bombarding me with what seemed to be Bosnian election ads. Then a few days ago YouTube seemed to change its mind for whatever reason (I think because I shared a Kulfi recipe?) and now I’m getting bombarded by some very bizarre ads from India instead. YouTube ads from India seem to have such amateurish production values as if their budget is about 2p.

  2. Whenever there is a question “Is there this and that in your language”, my mind gives a blue screen. In every day, I can think of a hundred Turkish idioms that sound weird when directly translated to English, for example, but when I wanted to contribute to the post earlier, I couldn’t think of a single one. Maybe it comes to me if I listen to “Lion Sleeps Tonight” on a loop or something. Brains are super weird.

I have a question (don’t want to make a post about it). What kind of yogurt is sold in your country? Is it usually stirred or set? I really dislike stirred yogurt, but nowadays have a lot of trouble finding set yogurt in Germany :/ I don’t know why it is even a thing.
