I try a different event in my area when I can on the weekends. Even if it is something your not majorly interested in try it out. You might find a new interest or hobby. Many local events are free or cheap. Below are some places I look for local events

Go to a local open mic night, go on stage and perform something. Talk about it to people, those who just came to watch and other performers, they will certainly be interested in the experience you’ve made and you can ask them about theirs.
Gets you out of your comfort zone, very good setup for practicing social skills and eventful.
