I (23F) have been using a dating app for a month and I managed to meet with multiple guys. I have added pictures from photoshots which actually show the way that I look. I am getting frustrated because whenever I meet someone they usually don’t even resemble the way that they look on pictures. I am not talking about slight differences but something that is visible from the start, like different body shape, no hair, completely different face features. I don’t know why people photoshop or add old pictures on their dating app profile.

  1. Well to be fair I have a lil beer belly I don’t want people seeing it… saying that I’m not on tinder either as I am not trying to attract new people just the wife.

Because they assume (probably accurately) that you wouldn’t match with them otherwise and they think they can play it off and you’ll be so enamored with their personality that you’ll let it slide. So there’s a level of self-delusion at work

  3. I find most women on apps are caked in makeup, talk about false advertising. Maybe people are just insecure but whatever reason, I would rather have an honest 7 no makeup and a few extra pounds than a fake catfish 9 or 10 that when you wake up next to them they have false teeth in a jar.

  4. Most men and women are average looking. They are going to use whatever tools they have to fit what’s considered culturally aesthetically pleasing when they upload photos on the OLD apps.
