What is your dream car? Do you think you’ll be able to buy it one day?

  1. 1974 ford bronco. I would just die.

And I think I will for sure end up with an older bronco some day, but prob not as classic. Sigh.

  2. 1980s model Toyota MR2. Getting harder to find nowadays. I can afford one now but it’s a major want not a need.

  3. Lamborghini Huracan or Aventador in obnoxiously bright green

Ownership of one is not currently within the realm of possibility for me but *man* I sure do love that car. Someday? Probably not, they start at $200k 😬

  4. That weird car boat hybrid that was the “future” in the 50s or 60s just to say I own one. My realistic dream car is a F250 with black matte paint

  5. Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst. And no, I will never be able to own one in the US, most likely.

  6. A really cool small RV with a special rig to carry bikes and kayaks.

  7. A realistic dream car of mine would be a BMW 4 series, kind of obsessed with BMWs right now. If I ever move to the US, I would hope to own as here I cant even afford to live by myself!

  8. Unrealistic dream car? Toyota 2000GT

A realistic dream car is a mid 80s Toyota 4×4 pickup.

  9. My dream car would be a reliable EV truck capable of hauling a boat or other trailer. I live in Southeast Alaska. Gas is, I dunno 6 right now, diesel is more. But electricity? Not to bad in any town with hydropower. Plus it isn’t like you can drive far, so a short daily range is no serious hindrance. There are people up here with first generation Nissan Leafs, which get upwards of 73 miles per charge, and that’s more than adequate.

This region already has good EV market penetration in wagons. But what keeps a lot of people from switching the only family vehicle or the second family car is the need for hauling stuff. Lots of messy things going into truck beds.

I just want some reliable and affordable EV truck to hit the market so that when those trucks are 5 to 10 years old more people can buy them used.

I think the next generation may be able to buy one, but if I did it would probably be in retirement years in which case I really won’t need that much vehicle.

  10. I have two and I can’t decide on which is best:

    – [1972 Nissan Skyline GT-R](https://blog.dupontregistry.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/1972-skyline-gtr-hakosuka-hero.jpg)

    – [1965 Lincoln Continental](https://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/1965_lincoln_continental_1965_lincoln_continental_5be0377a-110f-4fad-a0c3-c2811d535b1d-BEq82z-scaled.jpg?fit=940%2C627)

I could buy the Lincoln Continental but the Skyline is out of my reach, I think.

If I were to mention top three, I’d include a [1968 Mercury Cougar XR-7](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/fa/94/75/fa947583aeb126229a3054649c1f12fb.jpg).

  11. Acura NSX. I could buy it now, but I know after I did I would think why did I waste all that money. I have a C8 I wouldn’t mind getting rid of though so maybe.

  12. A second gen Ford F series truck (‘53-56). Rare as hens teeth in the UK. Looked after ones go for £35k plus.

I’ll be in Texas this September and I’m planning on doing some semi serious window shopping. I figure buying one stateside and shipping over the Atlantic will be cheaper than buying one that’s already here. At least, that’s the advice I’ve got from the UK classic American enthusiasts I’ve met.

If anyone has any tips, hmu!

  13. Cadillac CTS-V, I’ve just always loved them. Had a chance to buy one, 2004 manual with 20k miles on it, but it was 120 miles away so by the time the weekend rolled around and I could go check it out it was gone. Other than that one, the only ones I could afford were all higher mileage.

Will I be able to buy it one day? Probably if I really want to, just not new. I bought a new WRX though and I’m pretty happy with that, and I have a suspicion that once I’m done with it Ill probably get something electric.

  14. I used to think that a car was just a way of getting from Point A to Point B (and on the weekend Point C), but that was before I laid eyes on the 1979 Honda Accord

  15. 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS LS6 454. Won’t ever be able to afford one, but I guess that’s why it’s a dream car.

  16. I’d take any Caterham kit.

I might. I have other priorities with my money (building a new shop, installing solar PV on my shop, upgrading my AC, getting my investment account to the point that the dividends are paying my mortgage), but it could happen at some point.

  17. My dream car is 1971 Chevy Chevelle SS 454. I highly doubt I’ll ever be able to buy one

  18. 6th generation (2016-2024) Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE with manual transmission in Riverside Blue Metallic

I’ll likely never get to own one new as they’re discontinuing the Camaro in 2024 and I don’t have $70k to throw at a dream car, but I’ll stay hopeful that some day I’ll be able to buy one used.

  19. My dream was a white mustang with blue racing stripes. Bought it at 27. Sold at 31. Life changed. I’ll get another one someday when kids are older. They just don’t fit car seats very well,

  20. SRT Jeep Wrangler. Beating euros off the line in a wrangler is absolutely hysterical.

Def won’t be able to afford, or justify, ever buying one though

  21. One that never needs to be taken to a mechanic and never needs an oil change. Never needs aany parts replaced. Will run forever. And costs nothing to power.

Realistically though I don’t have one. I’m not a car guy. As long as it runs I’m good.
