How do I tell my boyfriend I want him to be more verbally affectionate with me? He lives an hour away and is only here on the weekends. He never calls me cute names, never says he loves me first, he’s never just sweet and cutesy with me. It’s very dry, short responses. And it’s not intentional, he was like this the two years before we started dating. So I kinda knew what I was getting into, I just want to know how I can approach the conversation without sounding like I’m just complaining. I wanna be called baby, sweetheart, I wanna feel his love through his words but I’d be lucky if I got more than a handful of words from him. His love language is physical touch. He’s always holding my hand, leg, playing with my hair, always. I’m more of a verbal person when it comes to love.

  1. Tell him that you need verbal affection and it feels like I’m nagging but this a need that you need met, especially given the distance.
