Ok, I had messaged the girl I haven’t spoken to for around 8 months and wished her a happy name day (added a sunflower emoji because it’s her favourite flower). She replied with “Thank you” (with a sunflower emoji). And I replied “I’ll wish you next year again” back. However, I truly want to talk to her now, but I just don’t know how to re-start the conversation.
Any help, please?

You probably should have asked her then that you wanted to hang out and try to reconnect again. I mean you can still do that. Just send her a message the next day asking how her birthday was and then ask her out for drinks or lunch to try to reconnect. Let her know your true intentions.
However don’t be surprised if she isn’t receptive to your offer considering your history with her and that it’s been 8 months. Just something to keep in mind.
