Not so much looking for work scenarios but social scenarios, with friends/peers/colleagues/romantic partners, etc. What are common examples of how people are being unassertive or not setting boundaries, and what are some practical ways to practice being more assertive? I get the mindset and cognitions and all, but I think it would really help to have some practical ways of practicing this skill day to day. For example, little things like letting the barista know if they got the order wrong and how to do this in a polite and respectful yet assertive way.

  1. talking over someone else in any conversation. example: you’re with friends and realize your bus/train is leaving soon. it’s ok to jump in and say you’ve gotta head out.
