I’m going to be spending over a month in Europe. I’m interested in going on dates — just for fun, vacation fling-type things . . . not expecting anything long term. My profile will make clear I’m traveling and looking for someone to show me around.

I’ve done this in the past and had fun with it. I’m even still friends with a few of the folks I’ve met that way. However, I’m not currently on any apps and wondering which app to download for Europe these days. Tinder? Bumble? Something else? I just don’t want to go through the hassle of setting up multiple new accounts, checking multiple new apps, etc when I’m there to enjoy myself.

Thanks!

  1. I’ve seen a few on Bumble doing this. Not sure about Tinder ( I don’t use it personally).

Send me a PM if you’re going to be in Stockholm!

  2. I live in Europe. Tinder is your best bet for that sort of thing followed by Bumble. Not many people here use Hinge but some do.

  3. I’ve travelled around Europe a lot. Tinder and Bumble are the biggest ones; actual biggest will depend on the country. Badoo is also used heavily in some countries (more eastern and Slavic countries in my experience).
Hinge doesn’t seem to be big.

  4. Recommend bumble. Higher quality of matches there. Tinder is shit.

Hinge isn’t really for hookups so I think Bumble works best

  5. Please just be aware HPV rates are super high in Europe (and everywhere but when I lived in Europe it was like 85-90%)

My experience as a dual citizen is that my American friends tend to not be aware how common STDs actually are and think it’s something you have to have slept with 500 people to get. Having spent half my life in Europe and knowing plenty of people who have or have had STDs you realise how common they actually are and it makes you think twice about having flings when you’re on holiday

And let’s remember, You can get herpes and I’m pretty sure HPV too even if you use a condom

What’s the difference between love and herpes? Herpes lasts forever

I don’t think flings are ever worth it, but that’s just my 2 cents

Don’t be the dumb American tourist who has a fling on holiday and comes back with souvenirs of oral and genital herpes

    Do a risk benefit analysis

  6. Sorry to be pedantic but Europe isn’t just one place and contains many different countries with different dating appetites. If you’re female I don’t think for one minute you’ll even need an app, if you’re male then good luck, you’ll struggle to stand out.

  7. Sure. Let me know when you pass Belgium area.

Facebook might be an easy spot.
Make a short profile and post in the local groups.

But it might be a swamp. At least you can pick.
