I love my partner, but all I get everyday is bad news, stress, something has gone wrong, my family is doing this, I can’t do this. We never get to talk about anything positive ever. I feel like I am a dumping ground for her emotions. I know it’s my job to be there but it’s wearing me down. I take on all the stress and I don’t know how to deal with it….

  1. If you tell your partner the affects they’re emotional offloading is having on you, you can both find a way to be there for each other but without anyone being overwhelmed. Your partner should respect this. It’s not just your job to be there; it’s both of you’s job to help each other.
