I also saw he put on this show with this really pretty girl from our friend circle and I am feeling self-conscious that maybe he is w her now, not that that matters

Possibility: your rejection of him made him feel awkward and like he fucked up, like he moved too soon, like he made you uncomfortable to an irreversible degree. He might feel like the best thing to do was to just leave rather than confront anything and risk a chance of being rejected *again*.
Or, could be an asshole, but there is nuance.
