Dead internet theory is really interesting. Do you reckon you’re having discussions/trolling real people, or is Reddit just a bunch of bots interacting with each other?

  2. At this point 50/50 and I’m starting to think that 35% of the real people are “Karma Farmers” due to the fact that the same questions get asked EVERY SINGLE DAY. Even multiple times a day.

There’s just too much coincidence for that to happen (and not one of them even thinks to use Google to get the answer or see if it’s been asked before? C’mon man!)

  3. Dead Internet Theory is just someone misunderstanding what’s happening and independently arriving at something that’s almost (but not quite) Eternal September.

They mistake the repetition for bots, when it’s simply people finding things for the first time.

Yes, bots exist. Yes, there’s a lot of bots in places like Reddit doing karma farming. But it’s not 75%. 20-25%. No, bots don’t make up most of the internet (defining the internet is “Places where people interact online”)

  4. Bots can’t be this stupid.

If they’ve invented an AI that CAN be this stupid? We’re doomed.
