We were promoting an event we will be hosting soon There happened to be a guy who asked about the event . He seemed bit awkward but nothing too eye-catching so we told him about the event and invited him to come along since it was an open event. However soon he started being very creepy: lingering around us for long time, being very obsessed about a person we knew (f.e saying he moved to our city because of them) and telling us how he was supposed to be one of us…

He gave us very weird feeling. Well the problem is that he will come to the event we are hosting and I do not know how I am supposed to deal with him… I am sacred that something will happen with him that’ll ruin the mood of the event. Any tips how to deal with a creepy person?

(Best situation is obviously that nothing will happen but I am still quite anxious)

  1. There’s not much you can do without confronting him so all you can do is keep an eye on him if you are concerned.

  2. I would make sure to warn the creepy guy’s obsession, that this guy will be there….

  3. In this case – be honest and direct with him. If he comes to the event (and most likely will), and you witness him being creepy or making other uncomfortable…talk to him privately! Tell him the TRUTH about how he us acting, and make him aware of it.

It isn’t fair to have others creeped out over his behavior, nor is it fair for him to be acting weird and never knowing how people react to him

  4. It could be that he’s autistic. So he comes across as extremely weird, but he’s not actually dangerous. Or maybe just cancel due to someone displaying covid symptoms. But make sure you don’t just tell him that it was cancelled and invite everyone else. Since not only would it be extremely hurtful, it could also be extremely infuriating – which is something you want to avoid….
