I (f32) hung out with this guy (33) a while back for like a month…basically ended by him telling me he didn’t think we’d be a good match. I was super sad cause I was really into him. Fast forward to now, we matched again on dating website and he slid me his new number. Text him and we agreed to hang the next week(now this week). Called me this last Saturday and we hung out for a few hours, then he left, I went to dinner with a friend, then he came back after dinner for a bit…no hookup or anything. He did however make a point to say he was leaving a book here for me to read. Then left at like 9, I text him making sure he got home cause he lives a ways away and I would do that with anyone. Ended up texting me Sunday morning that he was fine, and I just “liked” the message. I was a little tipsy Saturday while he was here during the night, and he had an edible. But I’m worried maybe he thought I was too tipsy and found me annoying and that turned him off. Neither of us have talked/text/exchanged messages since Sunday morning. Now this week, when we were supposed to hang out, I’ve heard nothing. Should I text him and ask to hang/apologize if I was annoying/overbearing, or even just if he wants his book back? Or just leave it?

  1. I think you’re overthinking it perhaps – if you can’t remember anything specific it’s likely he’s just busy or something. Though it’s really hard to know without more details. Which way are you leaning?

  2. Whatever you do, don’t apologize. You didn’t do anything wrong.

Personally, I’d see if he takes the initiative, but you could send him a short but sweet message. But don’t apologize for anything.
