So I’m a big fan of sport, I love it. I have a favourite premier league Rugby team I see. I’ve been talking to my gf of 4 months to go and see them with her in the winter.

She’s just told me she used to date one of the players for a short period.

These guys are my idols. And now I feel awful. I definitely think it’s a self esteem issue but I can’t help but compare myself to this mystery athlete and feel so much less.

My gf is quite shy so I assumed her past would be with similar people.

I don’t want to take her to the Rugby anymore and I’m struggling to get past this self comparison

  1. You’ve identified the problem- you!!

Are you going to ruin the relationship because of your own self-esteem issues? She’s with YOU now- YOU got the girl, not the Rugger bugger, be proud of that and happy in your relationship- I’m sure you have lots to offer that’s more important in a loving relationship than being able to score tries.

And DON’T not take her to the rugby if it’s something she likes. If you see a player obviously recognise her, take the oppertunity to put your arm around her, and give hime a knowing “I won!” wink!
