What do you think of the current “clean girl” trend?

  1. Trends are cyclical. A few years ago having a full beat, fake nails, etc were the thing. Now it’s “clean”.

I think you’re better off doing what makes you happy than following the current trend. But, if it makes you happy, you do you.

  2. It’s pretty boring. Let’s bring back the foiled shadows, blinding highlight, and thick eyeliner!

  3. I think it’s a trend that cycles around every decade or so. It might be branded differently and sold as a new idea but, in truth, it’s a very familiar “fresh face” trend.

The challenge every time this trend rolls around: it erroneously makes people believe this look is effortless and that women should be flawless. In reality, the images we’re seeing are usually still heavily reliant on makeup and/or filters which makes many, many women feel ugly, imperfect, or excluded.

I sincerely wish a trend would roll around that celebrates a REAL natural look: all hair types, skin colors, face shapes, and flaws.

  4. I think it’s come about because of covid and the fact that some women realised they are actually very much beautiful without a full face of make up on. Yes I know there are still some make up aspects involved but compared to the full eyeshadow, contour, highlight etc era that was pre pandemic, it’s different.

Many Reddit posts post-covid revolved around their partner believing they should go back to pre pandemic routine of appearance. So I suppose this trend was the answer. A happy medium so to say.

I’m here for it, whatever makes people comfortable in their own skin. If you love a full face, work it. If you don’t, work it.

  5. I think you as a woman should do what makes you feel most beautiful. And stop aspiring to trends, If that’s to your liking, fine. But the women or people in general I find most beautiful are unique looking and have a quirky sense of style. And someone comfortable in their own skin

  6. i never heard of this before but i rarely ever wear makeup, so in most cases, what you see is what you get.

i never really felt the need to wear it, that’s all. i’ll wear it for interviews and events but never in my normal day to day. i’m not really high on the career ladder either so no one has commented that i should wear more.

  7. To be honest I’m a bit confused about what it is, when I first heard of the trend I assumed it was being barefaced or just skincare and I was so happy to think women are embracing their natural beauty but then I came across a “clean girl tutorial” reel on instagram and counted the person use 14 different makeup products which doesn’t really seem ‘clean’ to me…
