Augustiner Hell Lagerbier. It’s perfect – crisp and refreshing. Got obsessed with it when I lived in Munich years ago. It’s also super cheap in supermarkets here (Berlin – around 1 euro).
I’ll be getting pissed.
I go to our local indy ale houses a lot, but honestly my absolute favourite drink is Steam Brew from Lidl. Just a really nice clean, fresh ipa that skirts the border between an ale and a lager, perfect for a chill one in the garden or a bit of a session.
A few pints of a golden ale homebrew based on the summer lightning recipe will be consumed tonight
Theakstons – Old Peculiar. Dark, smooth, fruity. Reminds me of nights in the pub with a log fire and snowing outside.
Same with Old Waverton by Spitting Feathers (100 Bonus Points if you’re drinking it in the Brewery Tap in Chester).
I love all types of beer, but I’m very partial to a Tsingtao at the moment!
Wolf Breweries, “Your Granny Wouldn’t Like It”
Adnams Ghost Ship, great for any time of day or season. Just goes down so well.
Don’t really drink beer anymore because I don’t like the gassiness/volume but I used to like Asahi Super-dry
Hobgoblin ruby beer, I like it so much I have a branded glass 🙂
Pilsner Urquell on draft in Prague
McEwans Export.
There is just nothing even remotely close.
Recently it’s become Staropramen. Tastes delicious, the glasses are beautiful and there’s something oddly appealing about asking the bar staff for a pint of ‘Strapon’.
Fullers ESB. The taste.
Kirin Ichiban. It’s ‘dry, medium-light in body, and modestly bitter. It has a soft texture and moderate carbonation. Tasting notes include toast, fresh bread, fresh flowers, and savory hops’, according to [thejapanesebar.com](https://thejapanesebar.com). It’s expensive but worth it.
My wife and I are going on a long walk up to a pub on the very edge of Epping forest in a couple of hours, having a few outdoor pints then get the bus home via an Asian supermarket, making Thai chilli chicken and coconut rice accompanied by a few Chang beers to complete the Thai theme.
It’s got to be an ice cold can of Carling!
Export India porter by kernel. I like dark beers that let the malt speak for itself (no orange chocolate etc) kernel gets it perfectly with this beer even though batches vary.
Top 3:
Absolution: Abbeydale Brewery.
Plum Porter: Titanic Brewery.
Harvest Pale: Castle Rock Brewery.
This is the best thread that has ever been on here. So informative.
Any sort of sour beer and I’m happy! Also a big fan of Magic Rock’s Highwire (a yummy grapefruit pale ale!)
Currently I favour a drop of Neck Oil. Is a bit pricey though.
