I have never heard the term “salad cream” in my life.
I think that’s a British thing.
Or it sounds like a British thing at least.
It is British. Ask them.
If you’re asking because of that image of the American section in that ~~dutch~~ Belgian store, quite a few of those products are British.
No idea.
Never heard of it. Do you mean dressing?
I have never heard of this term.
If you asked me to guess what somebody meant by “salad cream”, my first place my mind would go would be Ranch dressing, which is a creamy salad dressing consisting of mayonnaise and buttermilk (or substitutes), and other flavorings such as garlic, onion, mustard, and other herbs/ spices.
You might be better off asking the UK. [Here’s a history](https://noseychef.com/2020/05/18/salad-cream/).
Salad dressing?
This is British. From what I’m seeing, Americans use mayo instead of salad cream.
It is apparently a British product that I believe is largely unfamiliar to Americans.
That’s what the Brits call salad dressing, IIRC. Why they call it that when a lot of salad dressings aren’t creamy is beyond me.
I’ve never heard of it
I’m assuming you saw that r/pics post about the “American section” at a Belgian supermarket. Salad cream is a British thing and that shelf probably had more British products than American.
I never heard of that term until I met Brits abroad. It is simply not a thing in the US. From what I understand it’s a more vinegar-y version of mayonnaise.
It’s British.
I have no idea. We don’t have that. it’s not an American thing,.
Do Americans even eat salad cream? I thought it was a British thing.
I’ve never heard of salad cream specifically. It might be related to salad dressing though.

We call it “salad dressing” here in the US.
Sounds like something I tell a French server to put on the side.
Uh…no clue. Never heard of it.
That is a British thing not an American thing
It’s a British thing, that somehow got shelved with the American stuff.
Never heard of this. Sounds European
