i just got back from a&e and the hospital, i thought i had some sort of cancer on my vulva. the doctors told me that it was Lichen Sclerosus, a skin condition i’ve had on my vagina since age 5. apparently it’s extremely rare to have this, especially as bad as me.

in sex, my perrenium tears and doesn’t heal. this time it got worse, really bad, and everything swelled up and i was almost passing out from the thought of an examination.

she told me i can’t have sex with my partner for 6 weeks. my heart sank and probably so did his.

so i’m here to ask: what can we do? that doesn’t involve penetration, and that is like sex?

i was thinking dry humping or toys like vibrators…

this is really going to affect me as i value sex with my partner so much and it makes us both feel so connected and amazing. i used to have sex with him despite minor pains and tears, because i love him and his body and our sex so much.

so i need some help.

disclaimer: please be nice, this is really upsetting for me.

  1. Ouch sorry , try to stay busy and exercise. Honestly I don’t know what advice to give , libido doesn’t have an off switch. And having a partner you like is really tempting.

Vibrators even if external could impact healing

Especially when we try to work around an injury. I have had tears before and I just broke down and carefully masturbated as little as possible. But for me sex less then once a week is near impossible.

  2. Its only 6 six weeks. Just relax, time will fly by if you keep yourself busy. At least its not 6 months or a year.
