I (36 f) love oral, my husband (37 m) loves to give oral. The only issue is that sometimes his tongue feels like sandpaper. There is no lack of moisture, it’s the texture of his tongue. He is a smoker, and I wonder if hydration is the real issue. Any advice?

  1. Yikes. Cat tongue. I’ve really got no advice except maybe hydrate more, and does he brush his tongue when he brushes his teeth? Might possibly help but I have no idea 🤷🏻

  2. If it’s only sometimes, yeah, it’s probably “lack of moisture”, which is to say hydration.

I was a smoker from about 1983 to 2003, so I know how hard it is to quit, but you might talk to him about switching to vaping, it’s *so* much less bad in *so* many ways. The anti-smoking whiners always focus on cancer and emphysema–which suck, but there’s a whole bunch of stuff from spine and joint cartilage degeneration to ED issues. Unfortunately switching to vaping doesn’t fix the ED problems–that’s the nicotine itself. But it reduces a lot of the other problems.

Aside from that there are some mouthwashes and other products designed to alleviate drymouth that may help.

  3. I would try a tongue scrapper, or brushing his tongue. Other I wise my birds guess is that it’s the smoking. Don’t have any personal experience with this tho
