Some days, I realize I’m still scarred by bullying and such that I received in school when I was a kid. I guess the reason I haven’t fully gotten over this is I still have the “issues” that made me socially awkward and strange back then, and I also have the communication problems. It’s not as bad online. I can usually collect my thoughts and not overreact to stressors, but I’ve even made some pretty stupid mistakes on social media, too.

Of course, even as an older woman, I’d like to know the secrets to making friends and influencing people. I read Dale Carnegie’s book; it didn’t really help me. Maybe it was more male socialization oriented? I’m not sure.

I’d also like to know how to cut through the political leeriness other people seem to have. I don’t know if it’s hard for opposing sides to communicate IRL, but for some reason on the internet, it’s kind of like pulling teeth in the wrong spaces.
