Asked a girl who I think has a boyfriend to go for a walk and she said yes

I recently bumped into this girl at my appartment building, she has a friend who lives here.

She wanted to pet my dog , so she did and we had a short conversation , then went about our business … she was really attractive so I asked my girl – friend who she was , and I followed her on instagram . She immediately followed me back

On her page she has a few pictures with what looks like a boyfriend , the last photo of her and him was July 24th and it was a wedding they attended.

I messaged her tonight and asked if she wanted to get the dogs out for a walk sometime as I’m trying to socialize my pup more.

She said Yes for sure! And i suggested this weekend.

Regardless, do I just keep carrying on until she tells me if she has a boyfriend or not ? What’s the protocol here

Maybe they JUST broke up , maybe things are rocky and she’s exploring interests , or maybe they’re not together at all and he’s just a guy friend or cousin
