I’m in 21M and I just don’t understand dating. I’m used to falling completely in love with the person first through friendship/proximity etc and then getting together with them. I try to date in college but I just never know what to say, what the other person expects and frankly I’m not open enough to spend all that time small talking with a random person. I find it really hard to build deep connections. How can I navigate this new world of dating?

Just pretend like youre a person who does understand dating, until you actually do. Fake it til you make it. Dont wonder “what should I say?” think “what would someone who’s good at dating ask?”
Be more open like you said you aren’t. Ask more interesting deeper questions. Lead past small talk. Make it happen.
