Yes physical cues are essential. Both of yall should make efforts to learn each other’s native languages. š that’s romantic as shit!
I lived and worked (on and off) in Paris for 4 years with almost zero French. I feel you. Physical cues of interest I look for in a women: leaning in, looking into my eyes when Iām talking, laughing at my silly jokes, touching your hair, asking me personal questions etc. I am also very forward which might not be the case with your coworker. Englishmen are very shy I hear. I actually talked to this English guy at a meetup event 2 weeks ago in Paris, he was into this girl (french), I was kissing her friend. I told him to make a move on the girl he liked. I even talked to this girl, she liked him too. He never made the move. He just got her number before he left.
I say try interacting with him outside your office space. May be walk out with him after work and ask him to join you for an afterwork drink. You could try making this a group event and stay/leave when he leaves, walk to the metro together and kiss goodbye.
If you try this, let me know how it goes š
