I’ve found socialising a bit tricky during my self growth process, and I have a question about the normalities of venting in friendship to help me out.

I have problems that come up that I like talking about, some big, some small, and to talk about them I got a therapist. She’s great although I wish I could afford more hours!

I realise some of my friends do vent to me but I generally feel drained by it if it’s more than once in a while, and I feel uncomfortable just constantly having to say supportive things since I just want to hangout and sometimes it feels like being supportive goes in circles.

From my own point of view, is venting outside of therapy to friends okay and when is it too much/too heavy for others and when is it not? What are the social conventions for these sort of things?
