So i (m 18) wanted to take this girl (f 18)to prom we talk and hung out a few times and her best friend (f 18) is also my best friend and she was was trying to put us together. She just told me recently that she didn’t want to go to prom with anyone and she would rather go with her friends that nobody is taking to prom so our mutual best friend asked her “but what if someone asks you out anyway.” She said “preferably not.” This girl many people want to take her to prom and only I know this piece of information, so what if someone else does a promposal and she goes with them? What shall I do?

I really like this girl so it would be devastating if someone else took her to prom because it is so hard for me to like someone.
