Am I the event planner of this guy or maybe I’m just friendzoned?

I (27F) met a guy (28M) at work. We seemed to have an instant connection and attraction. He mentioned we should hang out so I asked if he’d like to come to the gym with me the next morning and maybe get something to eat after. So we did, and had a great time and then he helped me shop for a gift for my mom. This ended up being all day.

Next day, he called me and said he’d be interested in dating if I’m interested, and he always thought people should be friends before having a relationship and wants to keep getting to know me. I thought that sounded cool and we agreed to meet up again. Today he texted me and said hey are we getting together this weekend? I responded Idk, are we? I took you to all my places last weekend, let me know if you have ideas for this weekend.

As in, you come up with an idea.

He just said he’s game for whatever so let him know what I’d like to do.

I already did that. Last weekend.

I feel like saying do you want to date me or not? Do you have any ideas or am I in charge of everything we do? I felt a spark last week and now I’m just frustrated. It’s like shaking someone’s hand and it’s all weak and limp.

Is he just not an arranger kind of guy? Not that interested? Should I insist that he actually ask me out or is this just the dreaded friend zone?
